Flood FAQs #78 – How long does the lender have to maintain the record of receipt by the borrower of the notice?

Compliance > Lending > Flood > FAQs
Q:  How long does the lender have to maintain the record of receipt by the borrower of the notice?

A:   The record of receipt provided by the borrower must be maintained for the time that the lender owns the loan. Lenders may keep the record in the form that best suits the lender’s business practices. Lenders may retain the record electronically, but they must be able to retrieve the record within a reasonable time pursuant to a document request from their federal supervisory agency.
